In April 2008, Knowsley Safari Park donated £1500 to this cause and the money was used to support two projects. In 2011, they kindly agreed to donate £750 a year for the next three years to go to an applicant selected by Conservation Working Party members, preferably for a study in Africa.  This funding ceased in 2013. In addition, through Knowsley Safari Park, in 2012 Hyundai donated £1000 as "a thank you for the help that Knowsley baboons gave during our recent vehicle test"

Ymke Warren Award  - CWP awarded an annual grant of £750 in memory of Ymke Warren who was murdered while working in Cameroon on the conservation of the critically endangered Cross River gorilla.  The grant is intended for early career gorilla researchers and conservationists from gorilla range state countries.  Anyone interested in applying for this grant should now contact The Gorilla Organisation.

Cyril Rosen Award  - From 2015, Howard Rosen donated £1000 each year for five years to go to an applicant selected by the CWP.  It was donated by Howard in memory of his uncle Cyril Rosen, a long-time member of PSGB and CWP. Obituary of Cyril written by Howard Rosen.

Ardith Eudey Award - This grant was awarded in memory of Ardith Eudey who died in 2015. She contributed much to primatology, working in Asia in particular. Amongst other things, she was co-founder of the International Primate Protection League and held many positions including being Vice-chair for  the IUCN's Asia Primate Specialist Group, editor of  ASIAN PRIMATES and the compiler of the IUCN/SSC Action Plan for Asian Primate Conservation. John Oates played an important part in ensuring we had this extra funding.

Ben Garrod raised an additional £1,000 for a CWP grant by giving a talk at Chester Zoo. This was donated to us in 2019

Ben Garrod and Gillian Forrester were instrumental in providing an extra £500 for grants in 2020 through fund raising at a Me, Human event

In 2021, Kelly Stewart and Sandy Harcourt donated £1,000 to build bridges for howler monkeys in Costa Rica - supporting the application of Tracie McKinney and Carolina Orozco Zamora.

We would like to thank all individuals and organisations for these extra funds, they are greatly appreciated.

Please do get in touch with the Convenor ([email protected]) if you are able to contribute to primate conservation in this way.
