Scott (He/Him) holds an FdSc in Zoo Husbandry and Management from the University of Greenwich and a BSc in Wildlife Conservation and Animal Biology from the University of Kent. He is currently a Great Ape keeper at Twycross Zoo, where he cares for all four great ape species, and is pursuing a PhD in Evolutionary Psychology at the University of Portsmouth.

Under the supervision of renowned ape researcher Dr Esther Herrmann, his doctoral research focuses on bonobo (Pan paniscus) collective action and social networks. Scott’s previous work spans various UK zoological collections, with a strong focus on zoo-based welfare studies. His research includes the impacts of environmental sound, the exploration of stereotypical behaviours in zoo-housed apes, gorilla bioacoustics, and pre- and post-occupancy evaluations following enclosure modifications for chimpanzees and gorillas.
