Marianne holds a BSc in Biological Anthropology from the University of Kent and an MRes in Primate Biology, Behaviour and Conservation from the University of Roehampton. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Great Ape Wellbeing at the University of Sussex. Her research investigates the use of infrared thermography to assess stress responses in both humans and non-human primates, with a particular focus on applications for welfare and conservation. She has conducted fieldwork with wild mandrills, as well as with captive chimpanzees and gorillas in Gabon and Sierra Leone.
