About the Conservation Grants
The Conservation Sub-Committee administers the PSGB Conservation Grants. These are awards, typically not exceeding £1,000, to assist research of direct benefit to primate conservation and primate conservation education. The remit is very broad and although the financial value of the grants is quite small it should be remembered that approval from the PSGB is invaluable when applying for money from other sources. Grants are given only to members of PSGB and to non-human primate range-state nationals. Non-member range-state nationals should be sponsored by a PSGB member or apply to the Convenor to check eligibility.
Candidates should not apply to more than one Sub-Committee for funds for the same project or in any one year, but decide which best represents their chosen topic. For further clarification please see the guidance notes and, if unsure, contact the relevant Convenor(s) for advice prior to submitting a proposal.
The grant deadline in 2022 is 28th February.
PSGB Grants are open to PSGB members and to primate range state nationals who are not members. Range state nationals that are successful with a grant application will be given free PSGB membership for the duration of their grant.
All applications should be written in English and submitted directly to the Convenor ([email protected]). PLEASE EMAIL ALL DOCUMENTS (applications and references) DIRECTLY TO THE CONVENOR. References are CONFIDENTIAL and should be submitted and uploaded directly by the referee, NOT the applicant. All emails will normally be acknowledged promptly.
Please contact the Convenor again if your application or reference has not been acknowledged within 5 days.
Applicants are advised to read the Code of Best Practices for Field Primatology by the International Primatological Society if they are planning to undertake field work.
