Charles A. Lockwood Memorial PSGB GrantsThanks to a generous donation from the Lockwood family, the Primate Society of Great Britain (PSGB) is delighted to invite applications for Charles A. Lockwood Memorial PSGB Grants for Students.
The purpose of these one-off Charles A. Lockwood Memorial PSGB Grants is to help fund original research conducted by current student members of PSGB in any field of primatology. All student members of PSGB are eligible to apply. It is anticipated that a number of awards will be made. The awards will fund (in whole or in part) a piece of clearly-defined original research, which normally includes fieldwork or data collection. Awards will not be made for conference attendance, tuition fees, or other purposes. Successful applicants will be required to present their research at a PSGB meeting (for which travel expenses will be reimbursed separately) and are strongly encouraged to submit their work for publication in a peer reviewed journal (for example, Folia Primatologica, International Journal of Primatology, Journal of Human Evolution), acknowledging the funding. Copies of publications resulting from research funded in whole or in part by Charles A. Lockwood Memorial PSGB Grants for Students must be forwarded to the PSGB General Secretary (secretary@psgb.org). Applicants should submit the form, a project proposal of no more than 1000 words (including project title, research question, background, significance and methods), a budget (to a maximum of £300), a full CV, and a letter of support (on headed paper) from their supervisor. All applications should be emailed to the PSGB General Secretary (secretary@psgb.org) on or before the closing date. Applications will be acknowledged. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 30th April 2010. No applications will be accepted after then. PSGB plans to communicate results to the successful applicants by the end of May 2010.
