Charles A. Lockwood Student Prize

As many of you will be aware, we lost PSGB Council Member Charlie Lockwood to a motorcycle accident last year. The Society has since created the Charles A. Lockwood Student Prize, awarded to the best student podium presentation at the Spring Meeting.

The Charles A. Lockwood Student Prize has been created to acknowledge Charlie's time spent on the PSGB Council, as well as the thought, dedication and inspiration he provided to his students.

To offset the cost of creating the medal (see picture above), a few of Charlie's colleagues and friends, led by Student Representative Katharine Balolia (student@psgb.org), have competed in the Midsummer Munro half marathon <www.trionium.com/mm/> in Surrey on 20th June, 2009.

If you would like to donate to this prize, you may do so via PayPal, to <treasurer@psgb.org>. Donations should be made as Personal - Other, with 'Charles Lockwood Prize' as identifying text. Alternatively, donations can be made by cheque, made out to PSGB and posted to the following address:
Dr Gillian Brown, PSGB Treasurer, School of Psychology, University of St Andrews, South Street, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 9JP

Medal credits: Australopithecine illustration by John Sibbick (www.johnsibbick.com), medal design by Yello Balolia (www.yellobalolia.com)
