PSGB Tess Lemmon Memorial Library

The library was set up in memory of Tess Lemmon, who died at the age of only 34 on 28 October 1992.  Tess was very involved with primate conservation, being an active member of the Jane Goodall Institute as well as a Council member of both the International Primate Protection League and PSGB.  Early in her life she worked for two years at the Woolly Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall (www.monkeysanctuary.org/woolly.asp) and this was followed by time spent at Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage (www.chimfunshi.org.za) in Zambia and at the Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Trust in the Gambia (www.chimprehab.com).  She was regular contributor to the BBC Wildlife Magazine – her first piece being about an orphaned infant baboon, named Polly (after her sister), that she successfully rehabilitated in The Gambia.  Tess also wrote books for children about primates, one called Monkeys, published before she died, while Apes and Chimpanzees were published in 1993 and 1994, respectively. She had a Masters degree in Anthropology from Bristol University.

A list of the items in the collection is available in the Online Catalogue (this page is over 300k so will be quite slow to access).

We also have a much shorter list of missing volumes and we would be grateful for any help in filling in the gaps!

Both files are also available as tab-delimited text files which are suitable for importing into databases, spreadsheets and word processors. The online catalogue is CurrentHoldings.txt (49k) and the missing items are in MissingVolumes.txt (4k).
